At the Gynecology Institute of Chicago, we believe in whole body healing. We believe that Western medicine is not the only route to total health. Alternative methods such as traditional Chinese medicine, with acupuncture and therapeutic massage, and pelvic floor physical therapy combined with contemporary medical technology can combine to give you the best total result, treating endometriosis, pelvic pain, and hormone imbalance. Your Holistic Gynecologist and therapist will work together to design a program for you to help you achieve your goal of a family, a more balanced hormonal milieu, or to de-stress.
We offer, Acupuncture for Fertility, Fertility Testing, Pelvic Floor Physical Therapy, and Accu Massa.
What is Acupuncture for Fertility?
Acupuncture is one of the oldest, most commonly used medical procedures in the world. In the past two decades, acupuncture has grown in popularity, and an NIH (National Institutes of Health) study stated that acupuncture is being widely practiced and results are apparent. As women want to conceive, studies support the use of acupuncture to promote fertility and decrease the associated stress. People experience acupuncture differently, but most feel no or minimal pain as the needles are inserted. Some people are energized by treatment, while others feel relaxed.
Acupuncture from a licensed therapist is proven to be safe, and promising studies have emerged regarding the efficacy of acupuncture. The National Center for Complimentary and Alternative Medicine recently showed that acupuncture provides relief, and can provide endometriosis treatment, infertility treatment, and hormone imbalance treatment as well.
What is Fertility Testing?
The single most important factor in predicting pregnancy is the age of the female partner. It is commonly known that as age increases, the chance of pregnancy decreases. After 35, it is well known that fertility decreases.
During your Fertility Awareness checkup and Fertility Testing, we will look at your ovarian reserve with a blood test. Your ovarian reserve refers to the ability of your ovary to make eggs. These eggs are fertilized and they are what lead to a healthy baby!
We can also perform a specialized ultrasound to check ovaries and tubes. This test can be accurate in diagnosing tubal blockage which is a major cause of infertility.
What is Pelvic Floor Physical Therapy?
Pelvic floor problems affect bladder, bowel and sexual function and can cause pain. The problems may be weak muscle tone, torn muscles, hypertonicity of muscles causing pelvic pain, trapped nerves, scar tissue affecting organ mobility, and poor coordination of nerves and muscles.
Treatments include:
Incontinence treatment, pelvic pain treatment, trigger point treatment by the MD to reduce muscle spasticity, soft tissue manipulation to restore organ mobility and scar tissue treatment.
Our referring physical therapists have advanced training and experience in treating this most intimate part of a woman's body to get the best results.
What is AccuMassa?
AccuMassa is a unique individualized treatment combining a variety of acupuncture and massage techniques. This therapy was created exclusively by Ela Siragusa after years of experience and advanced training in both acupuncture and massage.
Treatment and techniques may consist of:
moxabustion, cupping, gua Sha, TDP lamp, herbal formulas suggestions, myofascial massage, deep tissue, massage, swedish massage, trigger point therapy, yoga posture recommendations.
The goal of acupressure or other types of Asian bodywork is to restore health and balance to the body's channels of energy and to regulate opposing forces of yin and yang. It also works to treat pelvic pain, stress, and hormonal imbalance.
What are the benefits of the treatments?
Less stress
Less pelvic pain
Less urinary leakage
Improved sexual function

Testimonials
Iris C.
"Jasmine and Trinity are AMAZING practitioners! I have never really felt comfortable with previous gynecologist offices, especially since I've had to experience some fairly rude practitioners in the past-but Jasmine made me feel so comfortable before, during, and after my pap."
Stephanie K.
"I am absolutely amazed! I hate going to the Dr. because usually I book through a large hospital network and have to wait for 3 months before I can be seen. I called the office to see if they took my insurance on Friday, and went in for my first appointment today.
Dr. Williams, was warm, informative, educational, patient, kind, and gentle. She asked about what I was experiencing, what information I was operating under, then gave me logic, science and facts to back up her recommendations."
Joan D.
"The entire office is warm and welcoming promoting patient confidence in the cutting edge treatments offered. Dr. Williams concern for patient comfort is always a top priority. Every step is explained in such an informative manner that any fear of pain is eliminated. She brought me from feeling miserable to healthy normal. I’ve recommended her to friends and they’ve been extremely grateful. She’s great!"
